Generalities
Level: Basic English
Topic:
Target structure:
1.
Possessive
Adjectives.
2.
Possessive
Case.
Time: 1 hour class.
Objectives:
At the end of this lesson SWBAT: create and have
a short conversation with a partner by using the possessive form of nouns and
the possessive adjectives.
What is your favorite…?
Activity type: Ice-breaker.
Materials:
Two objects, (It must not be a ball; it could be whatever, but it must be
something that Ss can pass among them), chronometer, and CD player.
Time: 10 minutes.
Teaching
Purpose: To motivate students to speak by asking questions to
their classmates.
Procedure:
1. Professor
will form three or two groups of students. (One group will be in the left and
the other in the right, but if they are three groups, two will be in each
corner and the other in the middle)
2. Once the
professor has formed the groups, students have to form a circle, and the
professor will give to each group a ball or an object to pass it among them.
3. Professor
will give students 30 seconds to ask among them W-H questions or YES/NO
questions. (In this case, students are going to ask favorite things of their
classmates)
4. The students,
who have the ball or the object, have to make questions to the students next to
them while professor plays the music. (They have to ask quickly because of the
time.)
5. When they
answer the questions, the students, who asked, have to give the object to the
other.
6. Once the time
is over, the students, who have the objects, will be standing up, and the
others sitting down. However, the students, who are standing up, have to ask
questions among them. i.e.: “A” student will ask “B” student, and “B” student
will ask “C” student, and “C” student will ask “A” student if they are three
groups.
